The biggest lottery winners in Sussex of euromillions are here following this week’s £171m prize winning.

A UK ticket holder won £171 million in this year’s EuroMillions jackpot on Friday, and we look back on a number of winning times from Sussex over the years.

Only 16 UK players have ever won more than £100 million, and Friday’s win was the third biggest.

Steve Thomson, a self-employed builder, and his wife, Lenka, a 41-year-old shopworker, were the big winners when The National Lottery’s first ever draw took place on June 22, 1994. They were among nine winners of the biggest ever lottery prize: £105,100,701.

After the win, Steve claimed that he would carry on working and wouldn’t stop, because ‘I’m not the kind of person who can sit free.

In December, a dad from Sussex won more than $1 million in the National Lottery.

Paul Macdonald, 48, said he’d do anything for his daughter – even do the Christmas decorations.

While decorating the family home in Bexhill, East Sussex, with tinsel and Christmas lights, he checked his emails and was congratulated by one of them for his win.

If it was a lucky dip or 30 pounds, he logged on to find a staggering 1,063,516 pounds

The residents won £30,000 each, along with two others who won £60,000 each, since they played with two tickets.
