A teen was killed in a bomb blast in Jerusalem.
Two explosions at bus stops on Jerusalem’s outskirts killed one person and wounded at least 14 others on Wednesday, according to Israeli police.
The Canadian ambassador to Israel said the dead person was a young Canadian.
“Our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the young Canadian who died in this morning’s terror attack in Jerusalem,” said Stadelbauer.
The deceased was identified in a funeral notice as Aryeh Schupak. The blast went off when he was going to the seminary.
Israel’s ambulance service said 12 people were taken to hospital from the first blast and three people were wounded in the second explosion. The person who died at the medical center was a teenager.
There was an explosion at the bus station near a city exit.
About 30 minutes later, the second hit a bus stop in the vicinity of an urban settlement in the east of the city.
Eli Levi told Israeli Army Radio that the first explosion was caused by a powerful bomb.
The outlet reported that the explosives were hidden in bags and one of them had nails to maximize the impact.
It was a crazy explosion. Yosef Haim Gabay, a medic who was at the scene of the first blast, said he saw people with wounds bleeding all over the place.
Since the end of the Palestinian uprising nearly two decades ago, bombing attacks by Palestinians have become rarer.
