After a record month of gambling revenue, Ohio casinos are on a hot streak.

There were two record months for Ohio’s casinos and racinos in September and August.

According to reports from the Ohio Casino Control and Lottery commission, the 11 facilities reported $188.6 million in gambling revenue in September, up from $184 million in the same month last year. September was a record month.

After a slow patch, casinos and racinos are breaking records again. Revenue fell from April to July compared to 2021.

The seven racinos in Ohio took in over 100 million dollars, $20.4 million gain compared to 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic and $675,000 gain compared to September 2021. The casinos in Ohio took in $81.2 million, a $13.1 gain compared to 2019 and a $3.3 million gain compared to 2021.

The casinos and racinos make money from gambling before taxes. . A third of the money is sent to the state in the form of taxes.

In the first nine months of the year, the casinos and racinos have brought in over one billion dollars in gambling revenue. Through September, the collection was 1.74 billion dollars, which is 1.3% ahead of the previous year.
