Hoda Kotb was born on August 9th in Norman, Oklahoma. As a child, her family moved frequently, being raised by Egyptian-born, Muslim parents. NBC was the network that would eventually propel her to considerable fame and success, and in 1998 was a defining year in her career as she joined. She was a correspondent for a variety of NBC News programs.

In 2007, she hosted Today for the first time, at the same time that Kathy Lee Gifford hosted the fourth-hour morning broadcast of Today Alongside Kathy Lee Gifford. She replaced Matt Lauer as co-anchor after 2018 she was dismissed for sexual harassment accusations. The first female duo to host Today since its inception in 1952 co-anchored the show with her. Although Hoda Kotb’s first husband, Burziz Kanga, was a tennis coach but divorced in 2008. In 2007, Katie Kotb had a successful mastectomy to remove breast cancer. She underwent reconstructive surgery after the accident. After this experience, Kotba became passionate about raising cancer awareness.

The relationship between Kotb and Joel Schiffman, a financier started in 2013. She adopted two babies and got engaged to Schiffman in 2019.
