Samantha Ponder
Ponder, who was born on December 11, 1985, is an American sportscaster who is the host of Sunday’s football game. Ponder previously worked as a reporter and sideline reporter for college football and as a basketball sideline reporter.
Ponder co-hosted the Saturday 9 AM edition of the Saturday edition of College GameDay on Saturday mornings as well as the Saturday 10 AM edition of College GameDay on Saturdays. In addition to her duties on College Gameday, Ponder had been the sideline reporter for Thursday Night College Football with Rece Davis, Jesse Palmer, and David Pollack from August 2012 to August 2014. PPonder appeared on a Texas-oriented regional network on ESPN.
Biography
Ponder attended Central High School in Phoenix where he was born. After graduating from high school, Ponder went to The King’s College in New York.
She met Ben Keeperman, a college football researcher and manager at ESP Zone with ABC Sports Radio and that led to an internship at the network which in turn led to a researcher-assistant job with ABC when she was in New York City. She became a student at Liberty University after Liberty’s Sr. She was offered a job as a sideline reporter for the Liberty Flames sports television network by Bruce Carey. After graduating in 2009, she worked for Fox Sports Net and Fox College Sports as a sideline reporter for college basketball and football games. On July 7, 2011, Ponder was hired as a sideline reporter by the Longhorn Network. Among Kevin Dunn and Lowell Galindo Ponder was one of the first talents hired on the network. Ponder relocated to Austin, Texas after she accepted her position with the Longhorn Network.
Personal life
Ponder is a Christian. Ponder married then-Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder on December 17, 2012, in Hudson, Wisconsin. The CapitalOne Bowl broadcast on January 1, 2013, was the first time that she appeared on broadcasts by her married name.
In July 2014, the couple’s first child was a girl, named Bowden Sainte-Claire “Scout”. They have a son, Robinson True, who was born in June 2017, and a daughter, Price Anne-Drew, who was born in July of 2018.
